Coding? What's that?
Since the Dawn of our existence, we Humans have created complex methods of communication, aka "Languages", so that we can communicate with each other.
From Ancient Cave drawings, Hieroglyphics of the Egyptians, all the way to the modern Languages you and I use every single day.
Language helps us to understand and interact with the World Around us. It is one of the first things that is taught to us as Babies, and we use it constantly, throughout our entire Lives.
But there is a New Language.
Today, in the 21st Century, the Language that is taking over the World, in every single country, is Coding.
Although the idea of a load of 1 and 0's may seem simple, it actually affects every single aspect of our lives.
If you are reading this, you are using either a mobile device or a computer, both of which run on Code.
Any time you eat (supermarkets use technology for organisation), drink, sleep (the alarm you use to wake up and the bed you bought...), drive, or pretty much do anything,
you are making use of this binary Language.
But for us, there is a big difference between the normal world and this Binary one.
Because be honest, do you have any idea how any of it actually works?
I don't!
Why you should learn how to code:
To Understand the World Around us
Its the "Language of the Future"
Train your Brain in Logical Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving
To Understand the World Around us:
And that is the first reason why you (and I) should learn how to Code:
If we are interacting with something so much, ALL THE TIME, then it would be super useful to have at least a basic understanding of how it works.
Its the "Language of the Future"
Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, said this:
“If I were a French student and I were 10 years old, I think it would be more important to learn coding than English. I’m not telling people not to learn English — but this is a language that you can [use to] express yourself to 7 billion people in the world. I think coding should be required in every public school in the world”
Since Code is already present in every aspect of our lives (even more so since the start of the Pandemic), and the future almost certainly will only see this increase, then logically the importance of understanding this new world will only increase along with it.
So, do yourself the favour of understanding at least a little bit about the world around us.
In short, Coding Skills will help us coexist with technology.
Train your Brain in Logical Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving
These 3 skills are extremely valuable in Life, and specifically in the business world.
Therefore, if you put the effort in to train your brain in these 3 skills, you will be more likely to succeed in areas where these are important.
Summary:
So, now that I have explained my thoughts on why it is important to learn how to code, that is exactly what I will do.
